The votes are in.

Powered by Copper Creek Contractors, Lucas Fuson of the Cerro Gordo/Bement boys basketball team and Jasmine Johnson of the Rantoul wrestling and girls basketball teams are this weeks winners.

Here they are, in their own words, with their biggest supporters their teammates: Lucas Fuson | Cerro Gordo/Bement boys basketball Why hes Athlete of the Week: Fuson scored a game-high 24 points in the Broncos 57-49 win against Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond in front of a packed crowd at the second annual Corn Bowl Classic.

From Fuson: Its just cool to know so many people came together to vote for me, especially coming out of the smallest school in our conference.

Its a big deal for me just being noticed.

...

It was a great environment (at the Corn Bowl Classic), and I loved doing it, especially in front of all the fans.

I couldnt ask for anything more.

...

Were putting it together, and people better watch out for regionals.

My favorite TV show is ...

Outer Banks.

Ive binge-watched that more than once.

My favorite music genre is ...

I tend to bounce around with my favorite genres.

Ill listen to some older music and then some more recent hip-hop stuff.

My favorite athlete is ...

Kasparas Jakucionis, and the Illini are my favorite team.

If I could have any superpower, it would be ...

super strength.

In the weight room, that would be pretty awesome.

It would just come in handy with other things.

My pre-game routine is ...

my parents always set me up with a good meal.

The night before, as well.

I like to eat healthy, and I like to get to the gym as early as possible.

I start with shots close to the basket and get farther out.

Then, I have my teammates guard me and get some contested shots up.

Our go-to post-win celebration is ...

we turn off the lights in the locker room and celebrate while waiting for the coaches.

My biggest basketball superstition is ...

I dont like to change what I wear.

If I have a good game in a pair of shoes or an undershirt, I like to keep that going so it doesnt mess anything up.

My favorite basketball memory is ...

when I played AAU over the summer.

Just the whole experience going to different states, making new friends and playing basketball.

At the top of my bucket list is ...

playing college basketball.

Athlete of the Week finalists: Philip Christhilf, St.

Thomas More wrestling; Ryan Hopkins, Fisher basketball; Joshua Lee, Champaign Central swimming.

Jasmine Johnson | Rantoul wrestling/girls basketball Why shes Athlete of the Week: Johnson earned a runner-up finish in the 105-pound bracket at the Springfield Lanphier Jeff Gardner Memorial Tournament.

This is her first season wrestling, and shes doing it while simultaneously competing for the Eagles girls basketball team.

From Johnson: Im just like Wow.

I really appreciate everyones support, even the voters out of Rantoul.

A lot of people look down on Rantoul, so being Athlete of the Week surprised me.

I very much appreciate everyone who supported me and the rest of Rantouls athletes.

...

I try to make both sports work.

Its kind of hard, but its pretty fun.

My favorite movie is ...

Miracles from Heaven.

My favorite musical artist is ...

Rod Wave.

My favorite athlete is ...

Aja Wilson.

If I could have any superpower, it would be ...

teleportation.

Whenever I miss family members, Id use it.

My pre-game/match routine is ...

I always think positive and never doubt myself.

I just dont think negatively toward anything and have good sportsmanship.

Our go-to post-win celebration is ...

if its wrestling, we scream and shout on the mats.

For basketball, its the same thing but on the court.

My biggest sports superstition is ...

making sure I stretch.

My favorite sports memory is ...

just last Friday, one of my teammates forgot to put water in the oven and smoked up the whole hotel room.

It was really smelly and smoky.

At the top of my bucket list is ...

making sure I go to college.

Athlete of the Week finalists: Reese Davis, Tuscola basketball; Kacie Sisk, Arcola basketball; Bailey Walter, Cerro Gordo/Bement basketball..
