STILLWATER Oklahoma States hitting reset at linebacker in 2025.

On Monday afternoon, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported that redshirt senior linebacker Jeff Roberson has entered the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer.

So much for the most valuable returning defender.

That honor will now go to safety Dylan Smith.

Roberson finished the season with 58 total tackles including 8.5 for loss and three sacks.

He also affected opposing quarterbacks 19 times on only 84 pass-rush attempts according to Pro Football Focus.

Roberson recorded 25 of his tackles and three of his tackles for loss during his final five games.

He moved into the starting lineup as the No.

2 linebacker following Nick Martins injury at Kansas State.

His departure would leave OSU without any meaningful experience at the linebacker level following the losses of Martin (NFL) and Kendal Daniels (transferred to Oklahoma) not to mention key losses at the edge position after Collin Oliver declared for the NFL Draft and Obi Ezeigbo exhausted his eligibility.
