Micah Parsons went out and made history on Sunday.

The former Harrisburg High and Penn State standout turned Dallas Cowboys star sacked Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels twice in the first three plays from scrimmage in Sundays 23-19 loss.

His final stat-line was three tackles, 2.5 sacks, and four quarterback pressures.

And it put him in elite company.

Parsons finished the season with 12 sacks, making him just the fourth player since 1982 the year the NFL began to track individual sacks to record double-digit sacks in each of his first four seasons.

The other guys on that list? Reggie White, Derrick Thomas and Dwight Freeney.

While it was a disappointing season for the Cowboys, the big end to the year for Parsons sets him up nicely heading into an offseason where he is expected to work on a long-time contract that could make him the highest paid defensive player in the game.

He finished the regular-season fifth in the league in sacks, and per CBS Sports his 0.92 sacks per game was second-most in the league behind only Bengals defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson, who finished with 17.5 sacks.

If you gonna want me, Im the best in the business, Parsons said, per CBS, when he was asked about where he stood among the leagues best.

After that I saw a bunch of triple teams so I was like, Were back to regular programming.

Thats part of the game.

I think honestly, man, I get Myles Garrett is a freak of nature.

Were different freaks in our own way.

I cant say theres three or four people better than me in this league.

I miss four games, and I put up the same numbers as some of these guys who play all year.

CBS pointed out that Garrett is currently on a five-year, $125-million deal, and San Francisco defensive end Nick Bosa is currently the highest-paid edge rusher in the league with a five-year $170-million deal.

I think Micah Parsons makes a difference, Jerry Jones said postgame, per CBS.

I think Micah Parsons talent makes a difference, and it made a difference out here.

Ill take that in real consideration.

The fact that he was here, and then wasnt here.

Then, Ill take a look at how I feel we got behind the eight ball when he wasnt here.

Ill take that into consideration a lot about our entire situation.

Parsons reportedly said he wanted to get a deal done quickly to help the Cowboys bring other guys back and needed pieces in.

I want to see some of these guys back in the locker room, he said.

We have a great opportunity.

I want to see change.

I want to see players here.

I want to be as aggressive as we can be.

I dont want to be a headache to nobody.

I want to be as aggressive as possible.

Jones, on the other hand, said he wasnt inclined to rush things, per CBS.

However, the site said that Parsons said he planned to talk to Jones about it as early as Friday at the College Football Playoff Semifinal at AT&T Stadium between Texas and Ohio State.

Ill talk to Micah, Jones said.

Ill talk to him about it.

As a matter of fact, I think hes called, and I think hes sitting with me at the Cotton Bowl.

Thats probably where well do some talking.
