Another New Name Emerges in Bears Head Coaching Search

Per The Athletic's Senior NFL Insider, Dianna Russini , the Chicago Bears are doing their homework on Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
Once the NFL season concludes on Sunday, it appears likely that Chicago will look to interview Weaver along with several other potential head coaching candidates.
Add a new name to the Bears head coach search, per @DMRussini : Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
He was previously the Ravens assistant head coach.
https://t.co/pPuLd8sDYf Weaver in his first season serving as defensive coordinator for the Dolphins after spending the previous three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.
His positions in Baltimore included defensive line coach and run-game coordinator in 2021.
In 2022 and 2023, Weaver was the defensive line coach and assistant head coach to John Harbaugh.
Weaver, 44, is a former second-round pick after attending Notre Dame.
He spent seven seasons as a defensive end in the NFL.
Upon his retirement, Weaver began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Florida.
Weaver has helped turn the Dolphins defense into one of the better units in football in 2024.
They currently rank 3rd in yardage allowed and 8th in points allowed.
Miami ranked 22nd in points allowed in 2023 without Weaver leading the defense.
Russinni also mentioned some other names that the Bears already have on their radar for the head coach opening.
Those names include: Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, Kliff Kingsbury, and Brian Flores.
Credit to the New York Jets, wasting no time bringing in one of the hottest names of this hiring cycle, Mike Vrabel.
@DMRussini was told both the Jets and Vrabel felt the meeting went really, really well.
