Good morning! Doink .
Lets start with the most recent news of a busy (and surprising) NFL Week 2: Houston is 2-0 after a gutty 19-13 win over Chicago last night, which, ahem, bears a big question: Lets move on to the NFLs most surprising division and within it, the leagues most surprising team: the NFC South and its 2-0 New Orleans Saints , who blasted the Cowboys 44-19 in Dallas yesterday.
For a more unbiased opinion on my preferred team, I went to The Athletic s Larry Holder , who has covered the Saints for years.
How surprised are we by the Saints? Larry: The defense was always going to be good enough to give the Saints a chance just about every week, but no one envisioned this Saints offense resembling that of New Orleans Super Bowl-caliber teams.
I still think Who Dats might be waiting for the bottom to fall out, but that was the same thought in 2009 as well.
(Reader, they won the Super Bowl that year.) Tampa Bay joins New Orleans as surprise NFC contenders after a stunning win on the road in Detroit.
There were plenty more intriguing results yesterday.
A few others I want to highlight: WHAT.
A.
CATCH.

We didnt even get to talk about big days for Aaron Rodgers , Jim Harbaugh and Justin Fields .

Wait, they won? The Chicago White Sox walked off the Oakland Athletics on Saturday, then followed up with a 4-3 home win yesterday that gave one of historys worst teams a bona fide win streak (two in a row counts, right?) when it was needed most.
Chicago needs to go 7-5 the rest of the way to avoid replacing the 1962 Mets as the worst team in MLB history.

wins Solheim Cup There is breaking a streak and then theres what the Americans did yesterday at the Solheim Cup: winning by three entire points to claim their first victory in this womens golf competition since 2017, when the U.S.
won by a whopping five points.
Team Europe claimed the Cup in 2019 and 2021, then kept it via a 14-14 tie last year.
Lilia Vus breathtaking birdie on No.
18 clinched yesterdays win.
Rose Zhang went 4-0 in the tournament and never saw the last two holes.

More news Its been a bad year for two Sunshine State powerhouses, Florida and Florida State.
Weve talked plenty about the Seminoles, who entered the year as a CFP favorite and now head into late September without a win.
The Gators collapse, though slightly expected, is still worth a look.
Its somehow worse than anyone thought: Napier is probably done.
I asked our David Ubben how soon the official move could come: David: If not now, then when? Theres no reason to delay the inevitable at this point.
The shifting calendar of college football favors those who make moves early, giving a program time to find its next coach and have him in place with at least some staffers ready to move by the time the portal feeding frenzy begins in December.
Floridas roster will be raided, but reviving this program with a new regimes vision will be exciting for plenty of transfer players, too.
Ill be surprised if we reach mid-October without the Gators making a move , especially if they suffer a lopsided loss at a high-powered Tennessee in a few weeks.
Every day Florida waits is one fewer day it can use to vet and interview candidates.
If (when) it happens, Florida will owe Napier about $26 million in buyout fees , while it still pays Mullen buyout money from his 2021 firing.
Chomp goes the money.
MLB: Nationals at Mets 7:10 p.m.
ET on MLB Network New York is tied for the final NL wild-card spot, but an ailing Francisco Lindor could complicate that.
Just 13 games left.
Washington has been competitive in the second half, too.
NFL: Falcons at Eagles 8:15 p.m.
ET on ESPN Suddenly, Atlantas path through the NFC South looks quite difficult.
As a reward, they get one of the best teams in the league on the road.
Congrats! Nothing is do-or-die at this point, but this one already feels important.
Philadelphia will be without A.J.
Brown, though .
