JJ Watt remains one of the most celebrated pass rushers of the 2010s, although he suffers from one crucial drawback.

JJ Watts NFL career only recently came to an end.

While he spent two years with the Arizona Cardinals including one year with 12.5 sacks, he is remembered for his time spent with the Houston Texans.

Watt played for the franchise from 2011-2020, serving as the teams biggest star in many instances.

On occasion, Watt would even find himself on offense in a trick-play role.

His NFL career parlayed him into a media role, regularly appearing in interviews.

During this times, he has talked about many topics.

Just this week, Watt has already opened up on his thoughts on TJ Watts injury .

He also has spoken out on Dan Campbells gutsy calls with the Detroit Lions.

While the Houston Texans star arguably has more to celebrate than regret, he doesnt believe his career was perfect.

Watt opens up Speaking in an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, JJ Watt opened up about the biggest mistake with his career, tying it to his injuries.

Yeah, its more about the recovery from the injuries and it was the actual injuries, I think 2015 was the year that I was by far the most banged up and just crazy amount of stuff.

So after the season, we had to fix a lot.

But its the recovery process that I wish I would have done differently, he said.

I always wanted to be the fastest back from recovery.

I always wanted to be back on the field quickly.

I wanted to show my teammates, the fans, everybody.

Im doing whatever I can to get back out there.

And theres probably a few times that I didnt let the whole process play out before going back out there was like i should have, he added.

Watt notoriously found himself on the injury report so often it could have charged rent.

Many fans believed that it was either a series of unfortunate events or his body simply being unable to regularly handle the rigors of the violent league.

However, Watt now believes it was his impatience to heal correctly.

JJ Watts injury history The pass rushers injury history reads like a scroll.

According to Draft Sharks, Watt suffered 18 noteworthy injuries during his career from 2012 until September 8, 2022.

Per Pro Football Reference, Watt played in all 16 NFL games in every season from 2011-2015.

Between 2015 and 2022, Watt played in 16 games just three more times.

In four of those seven seasons, he played in eight or fewer games, including two seasons with fewer than six.

Now retired, Watt can only wonder if his injury troubles ruined Super Bowl runs that might have taken place.
