1.

Ready to rumble When these teams met in Week 6, it was close: The Bills eked out a 23-20 win.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen knows that even though the Jets (4-11) are down, the Bills cant count them out.

I think these division games, theyre always going to add a little bit more flair to it, Allen said Thursday.

They're a physical team.

They got a really good defense.

In terms of why they've given me fits, again, I don't feel like I've protected the ball too well against them in the previous years.

The Jets defense has been problematic for Allen in the past.

Hell need to play a clean game to avoid giving Aaron Rodgers and New York extra possessions.

2.

Let the hate flow through you.

Dion Dawkins hates the Jets.

He really hates them.

The rest of the Bills should follow the left tackles lead and remember to treat this game like it means more than it does for either team.

It's always great in competition.

The rivalry is great, Dawkins said Thursday.

The intensity is up.

And I like to think and live in an aura like we hate each other.

That's what keeps us going.

With wins the next two weeks, the Bills can go 6-0 in their division, which they already clinched in Week 13.

A statement win Sunday propelled by hate just reinforces the Bills dominance.

The Bills should play angry on their way to snagging the AFCs No.

2 seed.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman signals a first down next to New York Jets defensive tackle Leki Fotu, right, and cornerback Brandin Echols during their matchup Oct.

14 in East Rutherford, N.J.

3.

Improve on third-down defense.

The Bills should use this game as a measuring stick for how their third-down defense is actually trending.

The Jets offense is 12th in the NFL on third down, matching up against the Bills struggling third-down defense, which is tied for 29th.

But over the past three weeks, the Bills defense was 24 of 40 (60%) on third down the worst rate in the NFL over that span.

Certainly, we're not where we need to be or where we want to be, and we're constantly looking to get that corrected, defensive coordinator Bobby Babich said.

Every week, we go in with a plan that we believe is advantageous for us, and we got to put our players in position, and they've got to execute.

4.

Protect this house.

The Bills can be undefeated at home in the regular season with a win Sunday.

I think that's a precedent that coach (Sean McDermott) sets early on from everybody that gets here of defending our dirt and making sure that that's one of the best ways to help yourselves get in the playoffs, is being a good team at your home field, Allen said.

And that means a lot because that's, again, one of our goals that we set out to do every year.

It would mark the third undefeated home record in a season in Bills franchise history (1988 and 1990, both 8-0).

That would be huge, nickel cornerback Taron Johnson said.

Just more confidence for us.

Just make sure we build.
