Girls basketball weekly honors for Dec. 26: Junior celebrated holidays with 1,000th point

Before the holidays tipped off this week, one junior reached the 1,000-point milestone in girls basketball.

G/F Brooke Leonardi, Phillipsburg The senior scored 21 points to lead Phillipsburg to a 45-38 home win over Warren Hills on Monday night, the Stateliners' first victory of the season.

Leonardi tallied five pointers in the win.

Leonardi also had 10 points for Phillipsburg on Dec.

17 against Hillsborough.

G/F Julianna Bonham, Wilson The freshman tallied 28 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists in the Warriors ' 62-31 home victory over Southern Lehigh.

Bonham then had 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the 63-32 home win over Catasauqua.

Shes been a key part this season for Wilson, which is having a turnaround season and has an 8-2 record.

G Renee Wells, Nazareth The senior scored 21 points in Nazareth s 78-5 home victory over Pleasant Valley last Thursday night.

Wells also tallied 21 points in the Blue Eagles' 54-19 road win over Allen last Monday night.

F Natalie Sroka, Belvidere The junior reached the 1,000-point milestone for her career in the County Seaters' 51-40 road win over Hackettstown on Saturday afternoon.

Sroka tallied 28 points, seven steals and five rebounds in the Belvidere victory over the Tigers.

She had 21 points and 10 steals in the County Seaters' 52-12 road victory over College Achieve Central last Thursday.
