Eagles sign QB Ian Book to practice squad
Injuries at quarterback have led the Eagles to bring back Ian Book to their practice squad.
The Eagles are signing Book to the practice squad today after he visited the team yesterday, the team announced.
Eagles starting quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion on Sunday and remains in the concussion protocol today, coach Nick Sirianni said.
Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Pickett injured his ribs, so Philadelphia is suddenly very thin at the most important position.
Its unclear at this point whether Hurts and/or Pickett will be cleared to play on Sunday against the Cowboys.
Tanner McKee is the other quarterback on the Eagles, and he would be next in line if Hurts and Pickett are both out.
Book is now next in line after McKee.
Book was drafted by the Saints in 2021 after playing his college football at Notre Dame.
He had a previous stint with the Eagles in 2022.
The Eagles also signed running back Lew Nichols to the practice squad and released defensive back Tariq Castro-Fields from the practice squad..
