The Athletic | Chris Kirschner ($) : In the second installation of his Yankees mailbag, Kirschner speculates on future moves the team could make this offseason and answers several questions about roster construction.

He claimed that the Yankees maintain a level of interest in a trade for Nolan Arenado and remain hopeful of signing Roki Sasaki, though the Dodgers and Padres are seen as the favorites to land the superstar Japanese pitcher.

Kirschner also reflects on the young players who could make an impact for the Yankees in 2025 and finishes by wondering if New York could have interest in trading for Luis Arraez to play second base.

Reddit : Contrary to Kirschners speculation, Jack Curry appeared on YES Networks Hot Stove segment to pour cold water on the rumors linking the Yankees to Alex Bregman and Nolan Arenado.

He insisted that New York has little interest in bringing either third baseman to the Bronx and refuted the claim that the Yankees included Marcus Stroman in a trade proposal for Arenado.

The Athletic | Jim Bowden ($) : In his own MLB Hot Stove mailbag, Bowden addressed whether the moves the Yankees have completed this offseason make the team a stronger unit than if they had signed Juan Soto.

He believes the Yankees could be a better team in the regular season thanks to the reinforcements to the pitching staff (Max Fried, Devin Williams, and Fernando Cruz) and the boost on defense from Paul Goldschmidt at first and sliding Aaron Judge back to right to put Cody Bellinger in center.

However, he maintains that the Yankees will miss Soto in the postseason, where it will be almost impossible to replace the impact he could provide with one swing of the bat.

MLB.com | Ian Browne : Walker Buehler is moving to the East Coast and could be a thorn in the Yankees side for more than two games.

The Red Sox announced they were in agreement on a one-year, $21.05 million contract with the 30-year-old right hander.

The Yankees had been linked to Buehler at several points in the offseason and will now have to deal with him pitching for their rivals, Buehler memorably shutting out the Yankees for five innings in his World Series Game 3 start before sealing the Dodgers Fall Classic victory by closing out Game 5..
