Bill Belichick has wasted no time making an impact at the University of North Carolina after the newly appointed head coach proved his reputation still holds sway in the college football world.

Belichick successfully retained four-star quarterback Bryce Baker , one of the key pieces recruited for the program's 2025 class.

Belichick was officially introduced to the Tar Heel nation during halftime of UNC basketball's dominant 93-67 victory over La Salle at the Dean Smith Center.

Wearing a formal Carolina blue blazer, the eight-time Super Bowl champion waved to a roaring crowd of 18,420 fans.

Shortly after his introduction, Baker joined Belichick on the court, receiving a thunderous welcome as fans chanted, "Let's go, baby!" "Thank you.

It's a privilege to be here.

Dean Smith's Center, Roy Williams' Court, and my first basketball coach that I'm really ever connected with, Frank McGuire," said Belichick when being introduced.

"What a great history here in Carolina basketball.

We're here to, I can't wait to get started on a football program.

We've gotten around here in a few days, and we can't wait to represent the school, the university out there, Kenan Memorial Stadium," he continued.

"The fans have something to be proud of.

We're going to work hard.

We're going to play hard.

I'm looking forward to it." Bill Belichick coaching staff at UNC explored as Nick Saban has already made decision Bill Belichick's UNC salary and how it compares to New England Patriots wage The Kernersville, N.C., native took the microphone, addressing the crowd with confidence: "Carolina, whats up? I just want to say I appreciate and love this court.

This is our time, and we're going to get this thing going." The declaration brought the house down, cementing Baker's full-on commitment to the program under Belichick's leadership.

Baker initially committed to North Carolina in June 2023, choosing the Tar Heels over a host of ACC and regional rivals, including Appalachian State, Duke, Louisville, NC State, and Virginia Tech.

While Belichick's arrival raised questions about whether he could adapt to the NI-driven college landscape and maintain the program's recruiting momentum or one day return to the NFL , those doubts continued to be erased after the ex-Patriots coach first official conversation with Baker.

"Their NFL experience is huge," Baker said of Belichick and his staff.

"Theyve been on the level Im trying to get to.

That separates them from a lot of other schools.

They want to develop me, and they know the intricacies that will help me reach my goals.

I feel like Coach Belichick will bring in the right pieces to build around me.

Theyre going to make me a priority." Baker is ranked as the 193rd-best player in the Class of 2025 and headlines UNC's recruiting efforts alongside four-star defensive end Austin Alexander.

The Tar Heels 2025 class currently features nine commitments, including two ESPN Top 300 recruits.

Belichick and his staff are also pursuing two highly coveted four-star wide receivers, Donovan Murph and Fonzy Smith, who could become key targets for Baker in the future.

Belichick's deal includes a $ 10 million salary over the next five years , with three years guaranteed.

The salary is double the number of former coach Mack Brown.

UNC will also provide their new head coach with $10 million to allocate in order to build out his staff of assistant coaches and a massive increase in NIL spending from $4 million to $20 million.

"College came to me this year.

I didn't go seek it out," Belichick said when being introduced.

"Probably a dozen coaches asked to talk with me about certain things, like a salary cap, headsets, two-minute warning, sideline tablets.

I believe were going to run a good program and have a good team.

Well see where that all goes," he continued.

"I'm not making any predictions.

I'm just saying [that] I'm coming in to do the best I can.".
