Sam Jennings heats up as RCTC gets blowout win

ROCHESTER The Rochester Community and Technical College mens basketball team rode a big outing by guard Sam Jennings and routed Minnesota North College-Vermilion 94-71.

The win lifted RCTC to 7-3 overall.

Vermilion is 1-9.

ADVERTISEMENT Jennings, a sophomore from Kenosha, Wis., blistered from the field.

He hit 12 of 14 shots, including 8 of 9 3-pointers, and scored 32 points.

He also tallied four rebounds and three assists.

Jamison Lien had 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting.

As a team, RCTC shot 56 percent from the field and 57 percent on 3-pointers.

It also hit 18 of 24 free-throw attempts.

The Yellowjackets held Vermilion to 38 percent shooting.

RCTC hosts Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range at 1 p.m.
