Mercury Local Roundup (Dec. 12): Kayden Baratta’s free throws with 2.1 seconds left lift Phoenixville over Methacton

Girls Basketball Phoenixville 47, Methacton 46 Kayden Baratta scored a game-high 20 points and went 8-for-8 from the foul line, including the clutch game-winning free throws with 2.1 seconds to play.

Neveah Latimore-Beasley added nine points for the Phantoms (2-3, 1-1), who won their first game as a member of the PAC Liberty Division.

Methacton got 19 points from Abby Arnold, 13 from Jenna Kaufman and nine from Ava Wolf, but the Lady Warriors slipped to 3-2 and 1-1.

Pottsgrove 45, Norristown 37 Pottsgrove fell into an early six-point deficit but quickly course-corrected, controlled a majority of the action and then withstood a late Norristown rally to pick up the win.

Freshman Nyla Stubbs posted 11 points, 12 steals and six rebounds, while classmate Thelia Dellaquilla added 11 points and five thefts of her own for the Falcons (3-1, 2-0).

Pottstown 39, Upper Perkiomen 33 Jayanna Hill scored a team-high 14 points and Yamiraha Sahad added 11 as the Trojans knocked off Upper Perk to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Olivia Keyser had a phenomenal all-around game for Upper Perk (2-4, 0-2), posting 11 points, 17 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Pope John Paul II 46, Upper Merion 34 Caitlin Cianci posted a team-high 14 points, while five additional players scored at least five points as a balanced PJP attack was too much for Upper Merion to overcome.

The Golden Panthers remained unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in PAC Frontier play.

Kennedy Coles scored a game-high 17 points in a losing effort for the Vikings (2-2, 1-1).

Hill School 74, SCH Academy 64 Sammie Faella poured in 29 points and Gracie Eilberg added 17 of her own as host Hill downed SCH Academy on Thursday.

Lily Soller added 15 for the Rams in the win.

Boyertown 52, Owen J.

Roberts 19 Boys Basketball Spring-Ford 66, Norristown 39 Tommy Kelly recorded 14 points and Syaire Barnes added a dozen in an offensively-potent first half in which Spring-Ford (3-1, 2-0) outscored the Eagles 44-18.

Chase Williams led Norristown (1-3, 0-2) with 14 points and five steals.

Roberts 62, Upper Merion 44 OJR utilized a balanced attack to take down Upper Merion, getting a team-high 17 points from Danny Walker, 16 from Elijah Cline and 15 from Gavin Winnick.

Freshman Ryan Simpson added a strong defensive effort for the Wildcats (4-2, 2-0).

Isaiah Robinson posted a team-high 17 points for the Vikings (0-5, 0-2), while Jackson Solley chipped in 13.

Perkiomen Valley 53, Boyertown 45 Buoyed by strong second and fourth-quarter offensive efforts, Perk Valley outlasted Boyertown to win its first PAC Liberty game of the season behind a team-high 12 points from Kyle Tracey.

Chase Kelly contributed 11 points for the Vikings (2-4, 1-1).

Trey Kern continued his stellar start to the season for Boyertown (1-4, 1-1), posting 24 points and six rebounds.
