Dick Vitale says PET scan shows he is cancer-free after lymph node surgery

College basketball analyst Dick Vitale is cancer-free once again.
The Basketball Hall of Famer announced in June he was undergoing surgery for a cancerous lymph node in his neck .
Vitale shared the latest update via X on Thursday night after the encouraging results of a recent PET scan.
Vitale, who was diagnosed with vocal cord cancer last July, thanked his supporters in a video while promoting his book, Until My Last Breath: Fighting Cancer With My Young Heroes.
Vitale said every dollar of profit from the book will be donated to the Jimmy V Foundation for children battling cancer.

He completed a six-week radiation treatment in 2023 to address vocal cord cancer, which resulted in Vitale missing the 2023-24 season.
He said in March he also underwent a four-hour major surgery on his vocal cords.
He announced his plans to resume working for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
He has yet to announce a game this season.
Vitale initially completed surgery on his vocal cords at the beginning of 2022 as he battled Dysplasia.
In 2021 Vitale was diagnosed with melanoma and then lymphoma.
