Travis Hunter makes history winning Bednarik, Biletnikoff awards; Ashton Jeanty wins Maxwell

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty split national player of the year honors, and Hunter made history by taking home awards on both sides of the ball on Thursday nights college football awards show.
Jeanty won the Maxwell Award for the most outstanding player in football, while Hunter was named the Walter Camp Player of the Year.
Both players are finalists for the Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded Saturday night.

(He was not a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award for the best defensive back.) Jeanty also won the Doak Walker Award as the nations best running back.
Former Michigan cornerback Charles Woodson is the only defensive player to win the Heisman, in 1997, but Hunter could become the second on Saturday.
Woodson won the Bednarik in 1997, as Hunter did this year, and Woodson also won the Thorpe, which Hunter did not.
But Woodson received no offensive awards as Hunter did on Thursday.
