Grand Canyon University was apart of the West Coast Conference for the quickest of a second, didnt even end up playing one game as a member.

Now, the WCC is suing Grand Canyon over its alleged refusal to pay both entrance and exit fees.

About six months later, the university left for the Mountain West Conference (will join no later than the start of the 2026-27 season) and the WCC wants its money now.

The Phoenix-based universitys basketball program has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 3 of the last 4 seasons.

A major factor in Grand Canyons decision to leave the WCC was due to the fact that Gonzaga was also on their way out the door to the Pac-12 Conference (starting in the 2026-27 season).

What is next for the WCC in the world of college realignment is yet to be determined.

Seattle University is still planning to join the conference starting in the 2025-26 season.
