College men’s basketball: LC wins with defense

Staff report SALISBURY Livingstones mens basketball team led all the way and beat Bowie State 77-62 in CIAA action on Thursday.

The Blue Bears (7-4, 1-2) got back on track at New Trent Gym by holding the Bulldogs (7-6, 0-2) to 28.4-percent shooting.

Bowie State was 4-for-22 on 3-pointers, but made it a reasonably close game by making 20 of 22 free throws.

Livingstone didnt light it up with 36.9-percent shooting from the field, but was a solid 6-for-15 from 3-point range.

Livingstone also got to the foul line a whopping 32 times and made 23.

King Ijeoma led the Blue Bears wit 19 points, while Jamal Cannady Jr.

had 18.

Newcomer Jamie Lewis scored 11.
