Sanchez: The Yankees landed their first offensive upgrade of the offseason, trading for Cody Bellinger, and now that hes gotten some time to speak to the media hes hoping for a continued rebound in his career.

Bellinger, the 2019 NL MVP, crashed down to Earth in 2021-22, posting one of the worst slash lines in the whole league, but revitalized himself with the Cubs the last two seasons.

Hes been fairly solid in that latest stint, but moving out of the pitcher-friendly confines of Wrigley Field may continue to boost his bat back into peak form.

Bellinger sure hopes thats the case, and it would be fitting for him to do so in his fathers old stomping grounds.

Bostons been begging to throw around some money this offseason but has only managed to trade for Garrett Crochet so far, but getting a Yankee villain to trade one hated uniform for another would certainly be fitting.

For the Yankees part, Bregmans never been an ideal fit, but he is currently one of the best bats remaining its all about the years that hell command in his next contract that makes him an unappealing target.

If Boston wants to tangle with that, so be it.
