Local Pro Update: Hickory resident DiBenedetto signs extension with Viking Motorsports

Xfinity Series driver Matt DiBenedetto wont have to worry about where he will land in 2025.
Viking Motorsports signed the Hickory resident to a two-year extension this week, which means he will remain a fixture on a team which will see many other changes in 2025.
First, Viking announced a new alliance with Chevrolet, switching from Ford.

38 car will also be rebranded with no.
99, and Viking has signed a new technical alliance with Richard Childress racing.
DiBenedetto landed at Viking Motorsports in the middle of the 2024 season after losing his spot in the NASCAR truck series with Rackley WAR in Oct.
2023.
DiBenedetto started 28 races for Viking in 2024 and finished 26th in the final standings at the end of the season.
He recorded his best finish of the year when he took seventh in Iowa on June 15.
He equaled that result on Aug.
17, taking seventh in at Michigan.
South Caldwell alum and Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson left with a knee injury in the Eagles Week 15 game against Pittsburgh on Dec.
15 and did not return.
Dickerson went down on first play of the second drive and was replaced by Tyler Steen.

Coming into last weeks game, Dickerson had played in all 13 games for Philadelphia.
Dickersons status for this weekends game against Washington is not yet clear.
Caleb Farley had five snaps for the Carolina Panthers on Dec.
15.
It was his sixth appearance in the 2024 NFL season in eight games since being added to the Panthers 53-man roster in October.

This season, Farley has played 80 snaps (56% on special teams) and logged 10 total tackles for the Panthers.
Hickory High alum JT Poston and teammate Swedish LPGA Tour player Maja Stark finished in a tie for ninth in the Grant Thornton Invitational on Dec.
15 in Naples, Florida.
The pair finished at 19-under in the three round event and earned $155,000.
