Head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, has indeed changed his mind regarding his goalie Cayden Primeau.

While everyone assumed that the young netminder would play one of the two games in two nights against the Detroit Red Wings, that no longer seems to be a guarantee.

This is quite a change in discourse for MSL.

As mentioned by Dave Levesque on the TVA Sports website , it can no longer be taken for granted that the Canadiens' second goalie will play one of the two games in two nights.

If you ask me, it says a lot about the lack of confidence in Cayden Primeau, unfortunately.

As Andrew Zadarnowski points out , Primeau's stats are no longer up to NHL standards.

A Surprising Response from Martin St-Louis Regarding Cayden Primeau At the very start of the season, St-Louis had mentioned that it was obvious both goalies would play in a 'two games in two nights' situation, but the tone had changed yesterday during the press conference.

Here is Martin St-Louis' new response on the matter (captured yesterday): 'Maybe, my mind isn't made up yet.' - TVA Sports This doesn't mean Primeau won't play this week, despite a three-games-in-four-nights situation, but clearly, the messaging has changed.

It's unfortunate for Primeau, but he simply hasn't been up to par this season in Montreal.

Does the coach's response indicate that another goalie besides Cayden Primeau could be used? We can only speculate for the moment, but it is certainly interesting to see that Martin did not want to commit on the topic.
