Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James surpassed Kyle Korver for seventh place in the all-time three-pointers made list during Wednesdays 134-93 loss against the Miami Heat .
LeBron James , who has struggled shooting from the field lately, only needed one three-pointer to leapfrog his former teammate.
He knocked down the historic shot early in the third period after a hand-off from Anthony Davis .
The four-time NBA champion can go up as high as sixth place at the end of this season, potentially surpassing Klay Thompson if he regains his rhythm in the next few games.
Right now, James is 81 three-pointers away from overtaking Thompson.
The King finished with 29 points, five rebounds, and eight assists on 12-for-18 shooting from the field, but his efforts werent enough as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to a 12-10 record , good for ninth in the Western Conference.
James is averaging 22.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game on 49.1 percent shooting from the field and 34.2 percent from beyond the arc this season.
LeBron James pinpoints the culprit behind the Los Angeles Lakers slump Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick called out the team for lacking the necessary fighting spirit amid their slide, but according to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the blame starts on the players.
Its not on the coaches.
Its definitely on us, for sure, James said via Jovan Buha of The Athletic.
Its on us.
Its on us players, to be honest.
Were getting the schemes.
The schemes are on point.
But we just gotta go out and do it and execute em.
But I just gotta step up for the team, Davis added.
