Indiana Fever star and WNBA Rookie of The Year Caitlin Clark may know that she is now on a whole new level of fame, but there are times that she doesnt feel famous at all.

Rather, Clark bared that there are times that she feels more controversial rather than famous.

In her interview with TIME , Caitlin Clark touched on a wide range of topics that surround her, her rise to stardom, and her future in the WNBAand even beyond the league.

At one point, she talked about how her rise to fame and stardom introduced her to a lot of changes and first-time experiences.

Theres just so much weird stuff, Clark said, citing weird fan interactions, such as someone asking her to sign a sonogram.

But despite all these, Clark also has her share of haters, detractors, or people who simply do not like her.

She understands that not everyone would like her, which sometimes makes her feel that she is more controversial than famous, as most would describe her.

I tell people I feel like the most controversial person, says Clark.

But I am not.

Its just because of all the storylines that surround me.

I literally try to live and treat everybody in the same exact respectful, kind way.

It just confuses me at times.

Despite the presence of negative comments, Caitlin doesnt let these faze her.

Rather, she looks at the bright side of her fame: the people she inspires, the people she brings together, and the influence she has on a lot of people.

You feel powerful, Clark said about the topic.

Instantly, everybody goes crazy.

People are invested in the game, they love the game, and thats what makes it so fun for me.

These people arent supporting womens sports to check a box.

Its going to be the new normal.

Even in the race to become the 2024 Rookie of The Year, it was Clark and Reeses names that fans have consistently debated about.

Despite this, Clark couldnt understand the way fans have made a lore of rivalry between her and Reese.

I dont get that at all, says Clark.

Were not best friends, by any means, but were very respectful of one another.

Yes, we have had tremendous battles.

But when have I ever guarded her? And when has she guarded me? Caitlin Clark is preparing for the upcoming 2025 WNBA season, and spends her time trying out pro-am golf, giving inspirational talks, and watching NBA games in between.
