North Texas to face Northern Iowa in rematch of last season's thriller tonight

North Texas posted one of its more thrilling wins last season when the Mean Green edged Northern Iowa in their season opener.
UNT came up with a stand late in regulation and then pulled away in overtime for an 83-77 win in Ross Hodges debut as the Mean Greens coach.
The teams will meet again tonight in the opening round of the NIT Season Tip Off at State Farm Field House in Kissimmee, Florida.
UNT heads into the game off an impressive 58-55 win over Oregon State earlier this week.
The Mean Green pulled it out when senior guard Atin Wright hit a 3 at the buzzer.
The win was the latest in a series of impressive performances early in the season by UNT, which also won at Minnesota.
UNT will face either Utah State or St.
Bonaventure on Friday.
We will have a couple of more incredible opportunities for neutral court wins, Hodge said.

Wright struggled against OSU before coming through with his game-winning 3, missing all six of his shots from the field.
The senior is averaging 11.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
G: Rondel Walker, 6-5, Sr.
Walker pulled down seven rebounds and finished with three points in UNTs win over OSU.
The senior is averaging 5.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
F: Grant Newell: 6-9, Jr.
Newell scored three points and grabbed two rebounds in UNTs win over OSU.
Hes averaging 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
F: Moulaye Sissoko, 6-9, Sr.
Sissoko pulled down three rebounds but didnt score in UNTs win over OSU after taking just two shots.
Hes averaging 4.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
UNI was picked to finish second in the Missouri Valley Conference in the leagues preseason poll but has been a bit up and down early in the season.
The Panthers won their first two games before dropping their next two, including a showdown with Wichita State, one of UNTs rivals in the American Athletic Conference.
UNI pushes the pace and is averaging 79.6 points per game.
Senior guard Tytan Anderson is averaging 14.2 points per game and was a preseason first-team All-Missouri Valley selection.
