On Monday, the training facility celebrated the college scholarship money earned by and the college commitments of high school seniors who train at the BPC.
This night is always special for us as a facility and a staff, BPC co-owner Ed Charlton said.
You get a chance to take a breath and really appreciate all of the hard work that these young men have put in over the years.
This year, 21 seniors received more than $3.1 million in scholarship money.
This was our largest class yet, Charlton said.
They set a great example for the younger players under them how to go about your business and work hard.
Founded in 2016 by Charlton and Mike Adams, the Baseball Performance Center has become a force in New Jersey baseball.
A number of local minor league and even some major league players have practiced there during the offseason.
Notable athletes who train there include Cincinnati Reds pitching prospect Chase Petty (Mainland Regional) and Toronto Blue Jays left fielder/first baseman Joey Loperfido (Haddonfield).
