This is something the Philadelphia 76ers should keep their eye on.

New Orleans Pelicans wing Brandon Ingrams contract is up in 2025 .

Many will pay attention to what the Pelicans plan to do with him between now and the NBA trade deadline.

ESPNs Shams Charania reported that the saga between the two sides will end in a trade or an extension.

He clarified that Ingram wants to be part of a winning competitive environment." The Pelicans have not fared too well this season, starting at 4-18, which puts them last in the Western Conference .

Much like the Sixers, their issues are mainly due to untimely injuries.

Ingram recently left his agency to join Klutch Sports , which will likely factor into contract negotiations between him and the Pelicans for the next few months.

The Sixers could benefit from this situation This situation likely wont be resolved for a few months.

In that same time span, the Sixers will get a better feel for who they are as a team.

They are also among the NBAs bottom dwellers to start the season.

However, if theyre banking that theyll be fine once they are healthy, theyll see if this roster construction functions well.

If it does, they dont have to pay attention to this Ingram situation.

If it doesnt, the Sixers may consider keeping their attention on whats happening down in New Orleans.

The Sixers could potentially consider trading Paul George for Brandon Ingram, though George is a little more expensive, so other players may have to get moved.

There might not be much appeal to George in the Pelicans' front office, but at the same time, they risk losing Ingram for nothing if they cant agree to an extension.

If they look to trade Ingram, George might be the best they can hope for.

Ingram is younger, his contract will be up, and he gives the Sixers a hybrid scorer/playmaker for someone his size.

The Sixers dont have to look into this yet, but there are worse ideas out there for them.
