The Athletic | Ken Rosenthal and Evan Drellich: The Juan Soto bidding is expected to close within the next week or so, and were getting a glimpse of what those offers are looking like.

According to some sources close to the negotiations, the floor for all of the offers that Soto is considering at this point are worth at least $600 million, and all of the main contenders (read: the Yankees , Mets , Red Sox , and the Blue Jays) are in that mix.

Soto and his camp are starting to whittle down the overall list.

Dont expect many leaks from this process, as pretty much every team in the bidding has no clue where hell end up going, but it looks like were in the endgame now.

SNY | Josh Flanigan: While the Yankees pursuit of Soto rolls on, it appears that theres been no interest in returning some of their other pending free agents.

Both Gleyber Torres and Anthony Rizzo expressed interest in returning to the team for next year, but the Yankees have other contingencies in place and havent approached their camps for any negotiations as of now.

The Yankees have been linked to both Pete Alonso and Christian Walker on the first base market, and multiple reports have come out about how high they are on Caleb Durbin and his potential at second base.

FanGraphs | Ben Clemens: This isnt a Yankees-specific article, but a good one to get behind some of the logic of the front office and coaching staff, alongside the rest of the league.

Clemens takes us to finance class, and applies a lesson in hedging your bets versus taking a risk to gain the maximum value out of an opportunity.

While taking the sure-fire small gain over time seems to be a prudent methodology (and still works out in certain scenarios!), the main problem is that theres no infinite amount of scoring chances to take advantage of.

You only get so many opportunities to take a lead or hold it, so go with what wins out the most over time.

This is a basic simplification, and Clemons is far more eloquent with the lesson than I am, so take the time to give it a read..
