Undermanned Pitt drops finale at Boston College, finishes regular season on 5-game losing streak
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.
The final week of the regular season offered no respite from the injuries and losing that have plagued the back half of a once-promising season for Pitt football.
Pitt (7-5, 3-5 ACC) completed a long, five-game slide to close its fall with a 34-23 loss at the hands of Boston College (7-5, 4-4 ACC) on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
Down their starting quarterback, Eli Holstein, and, revealed just hours before kickoff, star tailback Desmond Reid, the Panthers dug themselves a deep hole early, and attempts at a comeback were quickly undone by self-inflicted errors, as they ended the regular season on a sour note.
