God Bless America Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) December 2, 2024 Before the Spurs win over the Kings, Wemby had a three-game stretch where he scored at least 20 points.
During that span, the 7-foot-4 French player averaged 26.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
San Antonio shot 50% as a team and mainly depended on their outside stroke.
Defensively, Wemby led the Spurs with three rejections, and they had nine blocks and good rim protection.
The next game for Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs will be on Tuesday, for their Emirates NBA Cup game against the Phoenix Suns .
Former Spurs star compares Victor Wembanyama to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant Victor Wembanyama has lived up to the hype as he transitions into a star in the league during his sophomore season.
The Spurs star has played well this season, averaging 23.4 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.6 blocks.
Sean Elliot compared him to the late Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, even citing his resemblance to Tim Duncan, after his outstanding performance for San Antonio.
He got a lot of that Timmy Duncan gym rat in him, Elliot said.
Pop used to joke that they had to kick him out of the gym, like, tell him to go home.
That is an anomaly for bigs.
If you have to ask a big man to leave the gym, thats unheard of...
Hes routinely the last guy in the gym.
Id say that hes got a little bit of that Kobe mentality.
Not even a little bit, a lot, where he really wants to be the best.
He really has the hunger and desire.
Its almost a maniacal drive.
The kind of drive that Kobe had, the kind of drive that Michael had, where youre borderline insane and borderline a genius.
Hes got that.
If you have to ask a big man to leave the gym, thats unheard of." @seanelliott_32 discusses Victor Wembanyamas dedication with @TermineRadio & @Jumpshot8 .
