NFL fans demand Al Michaels ‘retires’ after TNF announcer slammed for having ‘no joy or emotion in his voice’

VETERAN announcer Al Michaels' performance on Thursday Night Football has received mixed reviews.
The Amazon Prime caller was on the mic for Thursday's game between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.
Michaels is one of the NFL 's most iconic voices and has been calling games for the last five decades.
The 79-year-old has been in network sports television since 1971 and joined Amazon in 2022.
But fans were not impressed with his call as James Cook scored a first-quarter touchdown on Thursday at Hard Rock Stadium.
The Bills second-year running back caught a perfect pass from QB Josh Allen , breaking on tackle to record a 17-yard score.

"Could Al Michael sound any more bored?" complained one fan in response to the call on X.
"Not even phoning it in, he's texting it in.
I think AI Al Michaels could show more excitement," wrote another.
Most read in American Football "He sounds like a robot calling plays.
No joy or emotion in his voice," commented a third.
"Al Michaels sounds so disinterested and the games are very rarely competitive and when they are, theyre competitive in the literal most boring way possible," declared a fourth.
"I used to love Al Michaels too.
He was my favorite.
Id watch the highlights just to hear his call.
But it's time," said a fifth.
Cook went on to enjoy a monster game, scoring 3 touchdowns before the half.
The Bills ran out 30-10 victors, but the game was overshadowed following a scary concussion to Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
