College women’s basketball: Catawba wins at home

Staff report SALISBURY Brooklin Ingram scored a career-high 21 points to lift Catawbas womens basketball to a 66-59 win against Lincoln Memorial on Saturday.

Ingram had never scored more than 12 in a game, but picked a great day for a breakout performance at Goodman Arena in front of 235 fans.

Janiya Foskey also had a terrific game with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Catawba (4-3, 2-2) won for the eighth straight time against the Railsplitters (3-3, 2-1), a South Atlantic Conference rival.

LMU did not play very well after a long trip 33-percent shooting and 21 turnovers but stayed in the game with 19 0ffensive rebounds.

Alexa Smiddy led the visitors with 14 points.

Catawba shot 43 percent with 18 turnovers.

The Indians helped themselves with 12-for-14 foul shooting.

Ingram was 5-for-6 at the line.

Catawba was down five in the third quarter when Natalie Fuentes Lara made back-to-back shots that swung the momentum, and the Indians were able to win the fourth quarter.
