The Houston Rockets are back in the win column after they secured a 130-113 victory over the Indiana Pacers last Wednesday night, thanks mainly to Alperen Sengun .

The 22-year-old center scored a season-high 31 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists on 12-for-19 shooting from the field in 28 minutes of play.

Sengun also put himself in rarefied air among some Houston Rockets greats.

According to StatMuse , Alperen Sengun (11) is the fifth center in Houston Rockets history with double-digit 30-point games, joining the likes of Hakeem Olajuwon, Elvin Hayes, Yao Ming, and the late Moses Malone.

StatMamba also pointed out that the Turkish international is now the record-holder for most assists by a center in NBA history before turning 23 (864 assists).

Alperen Sengun also has 12 double-doubles this year alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo , Karl-Anthony Towns, Domantas Sabonis, and Jarrett Allen.

With the victory, the Houston Rockets improved to an 11-5 record, good for fourth in the ultra-tough Western Conference.

They will play two more home games this weekend with a back-to-back set against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Jabari Smith Jr.

breaks out of his mini-slump with the Houston Rockets Besides Sengun, the Houston Rockets got a huge boost from Jabari Smith Jr., who recorded 23 points, eight rebounds, and three three-pointers on 8-for-13 shooting from the field in 30 minutes of action.

This was a solid bounce-back performance for Smith, who only had 14 points combined in his last two outings against the Chicago Bulls and the Milwaukee Bucks.

The 21-year-old forward credited the franchise icons who watched the game and gave him words of encouragement.

It honestly gave me kind of like a boost of energy, Smith said via Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle.

They (were) talking to me a little bit, Cmon, Jabari! Cmon! The fact that they even know my name is kind of like a pat on the back, a little bit.

But just playing in front of them was big, just seeing them right there.
