Local legends: Lanett and Valley players with ULM return to home area against Auburn

It was a bit of a homecoming on the ULM sideline this Saturday.

Two of the Warhawks who made the trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium to take on Auburn University came back to the area they once played high school football in.

Linebacker Seidrion Langston, who graduated from Lanett in 2021, was one of those players.

The former Panther put together a solid game in ULMs loss, making five tackles.

Langston was a member of Lanetts 2019 state championship team and headed off to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas before eventually ending up at ULM.

On the season, he has made 18 tackles and one tackle for loss in nine games played.

Langston was a part of the 2020 Opelika-Auburn News All-Area defensive first team for small schools.

Valleys Jaden Hamlin took a similar path to ULM.

After graduating from Valley in 2020, he signed with East Mississippi Community College.

He found success at the JUCO ranks, and his work ethic got him a spot on a Division I team.

While he didnt record a stat against Auburn, he did find the field and has six tackles and one tackle for loss this season.

Heres a roundup of how some other former Friday night stars fared this weekend: Towns McGough, Auburn University: McGough handled kickoff duties in Auburns 48-14 win over ULM.

Bradyn Joiner, Auburn University: Joiner played 40 snaps at left guard and seven snaps at right guard in Auburns win over ULM.

Matthew Caldwell, Troy: Caldwell completed 26 of his 32 pass attempts for 288 yards and two touchdowns in Troys 28-20 win over Georgia Southern.

He also ran the ball for an additional two touchdowns and was the Sun Belts offensive player of the week.

Brenton Williams, Liberty : Williams recorded two tackles in Libertys 35-34 overtime win against UMass.

Taylor Love, Tennessee Tech: Love made one tackle in Tennessee Techs 10-9 win against UT Martin.

Trikweze Bridges, Florida: Bridges tallied seven tackles and deflected a pass in Floridas 27-16 win over LSU.

Kristian Story, Kentucky: Story totaled two tackles in Kentuckys 48-6 win against Murray State.

JQ Hardaway, Kentucky: Hardaway made one tackle in Kentuckys win over Murray State.

Mason Cook, Georgia State: Cook played 25 snaps across the offensive line in Georgia States 27-20 loss to Arkansas State.

Jiquan Sanks, Cincinnati: Sanks was all over the field in Cincinnatis 34-17 loss to Iowa State making three tackles, deflecting one pass, and forcing a fumble.

Parker, Clemson: Parker had a monster day for Clemson, tallying seven tackles, four sacks, one pass deflection and one forced fumble in Clemsons 24-20 win over Pittsburgh.

Devonte Mathews, Western Kentucky: Mathews made seven tackles in Western Kentuckys 12-7 loss to Louisiana Tech.

Cam Coleman, Auburn: Coleman caught eight passes for 100 yards and three touchdowns in Auburns win over ULM.

Jackson Meeks, Syracuse: Meeks caught four passes for 38 yards and one touchdown as Syracuse beat California 33-25.

Que Billingsley, Kennesaw State: Billingsley made five tackles, all solo, and deflected one pass in Kennesaw States 23-17 overtime loss to Sam Houston.

Kye Robichaux, Boston College: Robichaux carried the ball 21 times for 90 yards and two scores as Boston College lost to SMU 38-28.

Cam Dooley, Kentucky: Dooley made one tackle in Kentuckys win over Murray State.

Jamauri Chislom, Memphis: Chislom caught one pass for three yards and a touchdown in Memphis 53-18 win against UAB.
