The Boston Red Sox are preparing for their series opener against the New York Yankees on Thursday night at Yankee Stadium, but a last-minute injury changed things.

Not long before first pitch, the Red Sox announced that outfielder Rob Refsnyder was scratched from their lineup with right wrist discomfort.

In his place, Boston placed rookie Wilyer Abreu in right field.

The full lineup for Game 1 will now be: Refsnyder was one of Boston's best hitters against Yankees starter Nestor Cortes, going 8-for-16 with an RBI in their meetings.

Abreu has never faced Cortes.

The Red Sox will have a tough task on Thursday, as they'll have to try to win without Refsnyder, Triston Casas or Masataka Yoshida in the lineup to start the night.
