Dalby has spent the past five seasons on the Penn State staff, most recently as an associate head coach. During his tenure, Dalby helped Nittany his Lions to a Top 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament three times, leading PSU to his 2021 Big 10 regular season and tournament titles.

Dalby’s tenure at Penn State led to impressive success for the team. In 2019, the program qualified for his NCAA Tournament for the first time in five years, and the team finished the campaign with his 12-3-3 record, placing him 15th overall. The following season saw an even bigger win, with the Nittany Lions earning the No. 9 seed in his NCAA Tournament. Penn State eventually advanced to the Top 16 of that season’s tournament in the spring of 2021.
The fall of 2021 has proven to be one of the best seasons in Penn State history. The team claimed another top 16 seed in the tournament, both in the regular season and in the tournament’s Big 10 Championship.
Overall, Dalby coached 14 All-Big 10 selections, 12 All-Region winners, and 2 All-Americans during his time with the Nittany Lions. He was also heavily involved in the Pennsylvania State University recruitment process, assisting with a program to lock down the 2023 No. 13 signing class nationally.

Dalby joined Penn State University after serving as lead assistant coach at Davidson College from 2015-2017. At Davidson, he was responsible for recruitment and talent development, among a wide range of other duties. During his time with the Wildcats, Dalby helped the program earn his two prospects in the top 150, sending two players into the professional ranks.
Prior to joining Davidson, Dalby was an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame, where he helped the team win back-to-back 2013 NCAA Championships, 2012 Big East Tournament Championships and the ACC Regular Season. 2013 and 2014 Championships.
Dalby spent seven years as a professional footballer, starting his career in the Belgian Premier League for the Royal Club Sporting Charleroi before moving to the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer club, where he played two seasons. Dalby finished his professional career with Charlotte his Eagles, where he spent two seasons as co-captain. Throughout his professional football days, Dalby served as a member of the United States Soccer Players Council, helping draft and implement a new Congress to benefit players.
As an NCAA student-athlete, Dalby played four years at the University of Notre Dame, where he was team captain for two years and led the Fighting Irish to back-to-back Big East regular season championships in 2003 and 2004. -Team All-American, and in 2005 and he was a semi-finalist in the 2006 MAC Hermann Trophy. He was also named Big East His Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-Star Big East honors he earned twice.
Dalby earned Big East Academic All-Star Team honors for three seasons and captained the USA U-20 Men’s National Team at the 2005 FIFA Youth World Cup. Dalby serves on the Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete Advisory Board, and the University of Notre Dame’s prestigious Byron V. Canary Award recognizes senior athletes who excel as students and coaches.
Dalby will join Corvallis with his wife, Stacey, and three children, Adilyn, Miles and Brayden.
Oregon State’s men’s soccer program has proven to be one of the top teams in the country in recent seasons, making four appearances in the last five NCAA Tournaments and winning the Pac-12 Championship in 2021 Did. The program included 14 of his players selected in the MLS SuperDraft.
