Coach Alexi Upton and his team will return home on Friday to host their second straight game.

On Friday January 27th, Sulfur Springs will face Serena in a big duel.

The Bobcats are not only ranked as one of the best teams in 4A Region 2, they are also ranked top 5 in the state.

The Wildcats have their hands full when they host Serena at Gerald Primm Stadium on Friday.

Friday’s game is also men’s soccer’s final non-district competition.

On Wednesday, Sulfur Springs took on Frisco’s Panther Creek, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed due to rain across North Texas.

A full day behind made little difference as the men’s soccer team won a big 3-1 victory in Frisco.

Coach Upton said his team had a good game after their big victory on Wednesday. He said he liked it when he saw him doing it.

Matthew Clark opened the scoring for the Wildcats thanks to an assist from Aubrey Camacho.

Edgar Salazar went big as well, scoring the third and final goal of the night for Sulfur Springs, assisting Alexis Pasion on the winning second goal.

Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Panther Creek in Frisco gave Wildcats football a 7-6-1 record.

They are too excited to go home, but the real test begins now. The state’s top 5 teams and their districts will open the tournament on Tuesday.

Despite hosting Serena in the top five, they have a big matchup on Friday.

The game kicks off in Primm on Friday, January 27th at 7:15 PM.

Tuesday brings the district opener as Sulfur Springs hosts the Liberty Airau.
