Why not? According to Kiffin, LSU recruits, parents and prospective coaches simply don't ask about it.
"It's not coachspeak," Kiffin said July 23 at SEC Media Days.
"I don't give coachspeak.
I don't deal with it at all.
I mean, recruits, families kind of initially people were saying that would be a big thing.
But they don't (ask)." Kiffin made headlines for his exit from Ole Miss on Nov.
30.
With Ole Miss firmly in the College Football Playoff picture, Kiffin departed after the end of the regular season to take the job at LSU.
Ole Miss went into the CFP without Kiffin and won two games before losing in the Fiesta Bowl.
According to Kiffin, that controversy has not hampered him in recruiting.
He said players are more concerned with details that impact them directly than the way his six-year tenure at Ole Miss ended.
"They want to know how they are coached, how they fit into the program, what's their NIL deal," Kiffin said.
LSU has done well in high school recruiting and transfer portal recruiting with Kiffin at the helm.
The Tigers brought in the No.
1 transfer portal class in the nation in the offseason, according to the 247Sports Composite.
LSU's 2026 high school class is ranked No.
11 nationally.
"I think for recruits and recruits' parents, I don't think any of them don't see why I did what I did," Kiffin said.
"I think they come and see LSU.
They see what they are doing at LSU, the history at LSU and the power of LSU.
