Former Detroit Red Wings forward Tomas Nosek is bringing his professional hockey journey full circle. The 33-year-old center/left-winger has signed with HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga, returning to the club where he first made his mark in elite-level hockey. Pardubice, located in the East Bohemian region of Czechia, shares the same nickname as Detroit: Hockeytown.
Nosek's decision to return home comes after an extensive career in North America that spanned 12 seasons and 514 NHL games. The last two of those seasons were spent with the Florida Panthers, where he captured the Stanley Cup in 2024-25. His journey began in the youth ranks of Pardubice, and he played three seasons with the senior team from 2011-14 before crossing the Atlantic.
"Until the last moment, I expected to be in America," Nosek revealed on the Pardubice YouTube channel. Reflecting on his transformation since leaving, he added, "It's almost unreal. A lot has happened in that time. I've had two children. I'm now a father. Back then I was young and inexperienced. Now it's something else. Maybe more experienced and wiser. I hope I haven't changed as such. Maybe I'm coming back as the same boy... Or man."

"We are returning for the summer with only one suitcase. I don't even have winter clothes here."
