The American players on Canadian teams problem

Brady Tkachuk is a Florida Panther.

While you can say that Ottawa Senators and NHL fans at large should have expected this, considering the fact that his father Keith and brother Matthew Tkachuk have very openly been recruiting Brady to Florida for a while, yet another American star on a Canadian team has forced his way south of the border.

This begs the question: Why leave? Itas not like Ottawa was the sinking ship with a bleak future like the team Erik Karlsson left the same offseason Tkachuk arrived, theyave made the playoffs each of the past two seasons and look to continue to improve.

The issue is most likely geography.
