With any coaching change, there's bound to be coaches who aren't retained at the program they once worked for, and thus, they become free agents, able to search the field for any available opportunities.

And from there, it can become clear how valuable the market sees them After leaving Michigan football, offensive analyst Josh Sinagoga, who worked with the quarterbacks the past few years and had been with the program since February 2023, had initially taken a job at Warren (Mich.) De La Salle High School, where he graduated, as associate director of advancement and associate head football coach.

However, another opportunity awaited in the SEC.

According to USA TODAY Sports , Sinagoga has been hired as a defensive analyst -- flipping sides of the line of scrimmage -- by Tennessee and Josh Heupel, getting him back into the college game as if he never left.

Josh Heupel is making a unique move to bolster his Tennessee football staff, USA TODAY Sports has learned.

Heupel and the Vols have added former national championship-winning Michigan staff member Josh Sinagoga to the Tennessee coaching staff, three people familiar with the process confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.

Sinagoga will serve in an defensive analyst-type of role and already has begun working with the Vols' staff.

Sinagoga, having worked with quarterbacks, will be able to take his knowledge of offense and facing Jesse Minter and Wink Martindale-led defenses to aid in his newfound position.

Though he did work with the QBs, it has been said that current Michigan football signal caller Bryce Underwood didn't have much in the way of a position coach.

That changed this offseason with former BYU quarterback and Utah staffer Koy Detmer Jr.

coming in as the bona fide QB coach, working alongside offensive coordinator Jason Beck.
