SWOCC student-athletes, president honored

A number of Southwestern Oregon Community College student-athletes were honored by NWAC as recipients of the All-Academic Award (3.5 GPA or higher) and the Academic All-Stars Award (3.25-3.49 GPA).

To be honored, students must e sophomores and have at least 60 credits earned.

SWOCC All-NWAC Academic winners included baseball players Beau Benedictson, Cole Collins, Kyle Cordo, Daichi Furuhata, Grayson Koehler Grover, Kaleb Long, Anthony Picillo and Ayumu Yazawa; mens basketball players Jettson Lundberg, Brighton Palmer and Connor Wilson; mens cross country runner Talon Thomas; mens soccer player Skye Oyama; mens track and field athletes Jayson Schweim and Talon Thomas; volleyball players Addison Penrod and Abby Stout; womens basketball players Morgan Herring, Kali Hibbert and Bree Turner; and womens soccer players Khobi Carmichael and Irelyn Gibbs.

Academic all-Stars recipients included baseball player Daniel Iwamizu; mens cross country runner Jose Zelaya; mens soccer players Jose Basave, Keegan Kruse and Marco Perez-Reyes; mens track and field athlete Cael Boe; softball player Ashley Lehman; volleyball player Leilani Kench; womens basketball player Tatyana Nashookpuk; womens cross country runner Kahmussa Green; womens soccer player Gracy Warner; and womens track and field athletes Leilani Kench, Samantha Miller and Tatyana Nashookpuk.

Scott honored SWOCC President Dr.

Patty Scott was one of two winners o the Jim Jackson Outstanding Service Award for the 2025-26 school year.

Scott and Tracy Swisher of Clackamas received the award, given in honor of Jackson, an athletic director and administrator and coach of high integrity and character, according to the NWAC website.
