Stetson baseball in MLB draft 2026: Which Hatters could be picked?

The 2026 MLB Draft will be quieter for Stetson than last summers event.

A year ago, four Hatters were chosen , marking the programs best showing since 2018.

It made sense.

They were coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.

Stetson endured a down season this spring, going 23-32.

But there are still a few players worthy of a potential late-round glance.

Plus, the schools name still could be mentioned early.

Logan Hughes and Kyle Jones, who left the Hatters for Texas Tech and Florida via the transfer portal, are ranked inside the top 140 prospects by ESPN.

The draft will kick off with the first four rounds on July 11.

The next day, it will wrap up with Rounds 5-20.

Yohann Dessureault Year: Graduate student Position: Infielder 2026 stats: 53 games, .301 batting average, .920 OPS, 34 runs, 10 doubles, eight home runs, 42 RBIs After missing all but two games in 2025 due to injury, Dessureault picked up right where he left off this spring.

He set new career highs in batting average, OPS and RBIs, among other categories.

The left-handed batter spent most of his time at designated hitter but had previously played second base, third base and outfield.

He earned All-ASUN third-team honors, finishing the regular season with a 16-game on-base streak.

At 24 years old, Dessureault is an older prospect.

But his production over five years in DeLand is worth a look.

Trace Hartman Year: Junior Position: Starting pitcher 2026 stats: 14 appearances (10 starts), 3-5 record, 4.82 ERA, 5213 innings, 43 strikeouts, 21 walks Hartman transferred to Stetson after two years at the University of Charleston.

As a freshman in 2024, he grabbed the Division II Freshman Pitcher of the Year award.

During his one go-around in DeLand, the right-hander transitioned from an early-season bullpen role into the Hatters primary Saturday starter.

Hartman received ASUN Pitcher of the Week honors after delivering 623 innings of one-run ball against a ranked Arkansas squad.

His dad, O.B., was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 27th round in 1985.

James Hays Year: Junior Position: Starting pitcher 2026 stats: 15 appearances (13 starts), 3-5 record, 4.73 ERA, 7213 innings, 77 strikeouts, 23 walks Hays spent his freshman season at Georgia before joining the Hatters as a top-of-the-rotation arm in 2025.

As a sophomore, he took the mound 12 times, and Stetson won 10 of those games on its way to the NCAA Tournament.

Individually, Hays junior year was even better than his sophomore campaign.

He established new career highs virtually across the board.

The righty stands at 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds.
