Michigan State hockey has picked up a commitment from another prospect with a future in the NHL.
Matthew Gard announced his commitment to Michigan State on Thursday, with plans of joining the Spartans for the 2027-28 season.
Gard was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2025 NHL Draft and is yet another future Spartan with a strong likelihood of playing in the NHL in the future.
Gard is a forward born in 2007 and originally from Winnipeg.
He recorded 33 points across 55 games played for the Red Deer Rebels and Seattle Thunderbirds during the 2025-26 season.
Gard is expected to play in the WHL with Seattle for another season before joining the Spartans in 2027.
