The South Alabama Jaguars (3-2) will attempt to begin Sun Belt Conference play with a 2-0 record when they travel to face the Arkansas State Red Wolves (2-3), who are returning home after dropping their conference opener.
In their most recent outing, the Jaguars built a 31-14 halftime advantage and then held off a comeback attempt by UL Monroe, securing a 52-35 victory. Jared Hollins delivered a standout performance, throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns while completing 14 of 19 passes. Hollins took over as the Jaguars' starting quarterback after Bishop Davenport suffered an injury two games into the season and has retained the role. Eager has been a big-play threat with 11 receptions for 305 yards and four touchdowns, while PJ Martin leads the ground game with 328 yards and five scores.
For Arkansas State, Owens has passed for 1,043 yards and five touchdowns but has also thrown four interceptions. Chauncey Cobb paces the receivers with 25 catches, and Hunter Summers has added 263 yards on 20 receptions. Baggett leads the rushing attack with 211 yards and two touchdowns.
