Skip Bayless thinks the Chicago Bears and quarterback Caleb Williams have flashed the kind of talent that could fuel a Super Bowl run. The analyst offered his assessment after Chicago secured a 34-17 road victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.
During the game, Bayless posted on X that Williams was developing into a quarterback capable of becoming the best in the NFL. His remarks came as the Bears controlled much of the matchup against the defending Super Bowl champions and then responded after Seattle narrowed the gap in the fourth quarter.
Chicago improved to 6-2 with its third straight win, turning a 20-9 lead into a 34-17 final. The Seahawks pulled within three points at 20-17 after a touchdown pass from Sam Darnold to Cooper Kupp and a successful two-point conversion, but the Bears answered with two touchdowns to close out the contest.
Williams completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown, finishing without a turnover. He guided Chicago's opening possession on a 17-play, 80-yard drive, capped by a 1-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden III. The Bears quarterback also connected with Rome Odunze, Colston Loveland and Burden as the offense sustained drives throughout the game.
Bayless Shares Super Bowl Vision
Bayless shared his thoughts about the Caleb Williams-led team's potential to reach the Super Bowl in a post on X. "The Chicago Bears just flashed their Super Bowl potential for all the NFL world to see," Bayless wrote.
Running back D'Andre Swift supplied the finishing power, scoring three rushing touchdowns and gaining 69 yards on 27 carries. Chicago's defense limited Seattle to 252 total yards, held the Seahawks to one conversion on 11 third-down attempts and recorded three sacks. Newly acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons made an immediate impact with six tackles, a sack and a pass defensed, while the defense also intercepted Darnold.
The result has intensified discussion about Chicago's postseason ceiling, with the team showing contributions from its offense, defense and special teams. Bayless' prediction reflects the attention Williams' development and the Bears' recent winning streak have drawn, but Chicago's next challenge arrives Sunday night against Tampa Bay, when the club will try to extend its momentum and improve to 7-2.
The Bears had beaten the defending AFC champions and reigning Super Bowl champions in consecutive prime-time games, further raising expectations around a team that entered the season seeking consistency.
