Simmons and Roberts Propel No. 23 Missouri Past Arkansas 34-10

In a Southeastern Conference matchup on Saturday night, No. 23 Missouri secured a 34-10 victory over Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. Quarterback Austin Simmons passed for 179 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Jamal Roberts amassed 158 total yards and found the end zone twice.

The Tigers (6-2, 3-2 SEC) held a 13-7 halftime lead despite not scoring an offensive touchdown in the first half. However, they broke the game open in the third quarter. Simmons connected with Donovan Olugbode on a 15-yard touchdown strike, and Roberts later added a 2-yard rushing score to extend Missouri's advantage to 27-7 with 9:47 remaining in the period.

Turnovers proved pivotal for the Tigers, who converted three Arkansas fumbles and one interception by KJ Jackson into 24 points. Among those was a defensive score late in the first quarter when Darris Smith recovered a fumble in the end zone, giving Missouri a 10-0 lead. In the fourth quarter, Simmons found Roberts on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 7:19 left to seal the final margin.

Roberts finished with 138 rushing yards on 23 carries and added three receptions for 20 yards. Ahmad Hardy, Missouri's All-American running back who had missed the first seven games after being wounded in the leg during a shooting at an outdoor concert in May, returned to action. He carried the ball twice for 5 yards, both in the first quarter.

For Arkansas (3-5, 1-4 SEC), Jackson completed 20 of 34 passes for 229 yards and rushed for a touchdown. The Razorbacks struggled on the ground, managing just 59 rushing yards on 36 attempts.

Key Analysis

Missouri's ability to capitalize on turnovers proved decisive, as the defense directly contributed a touchdown and set up several scoring opportunities. The return of Ahmad Hardy, even in a limited role, adds depth to an already potent rushing attack. Arkansas, meanwhile, continues to search for consistency on offense, particularly in the running game, as it prepares for a road matchup at Auburn. Missouri will host No. 11 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 7.
