Florida State's baseball program is heading back to the Gulf Coast for an autumn exhibition, as announced by the Seminoles on Tuesday. The squad will face off against the Auburn Tigers on October 10 at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola.
This marks the third straight season FSU has taken part in a scrimmage at the ballpark, having previously squared off against Auburn in 2024 and Mississippi State in 2025, both of which drew full houses. Ticket sales for the upcoming matchup are slated to begin on August 11 at 9 a.m. CT.
The Seminoles finished the 2026 campaign with a 40-19 record, bowing out to St. John's in the Tallahassee Regional. Auburn also earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament last season, falling to Ole Miss in the Auburn Super Regional.
FSU's lineup will undergo significant changes following the departure of eight players selected in the 2026 MLB Draft and nine others who entered the transfer portal. Head coach Link Jarrett and his staff have responded by assembling a highly regarded transfer class, ranked among the top 20 nationally by 64Analytics, featuring standout additions like pitcher Cayden Suchy and outfielder Ty Peeples.
Key Analysis
With the entire weekend rotation drafted into professional ranks, Suchy is positioned to become the Seminoles' Friday night starter, while Peeples appears set for a regular role in the outfield. Although the program's two top high school signees were also drafted, several promising freshmen are expected to contribute immediately, including infielder Yodelkis Quevedo and outfielder Genson Veras, both known for their power, as well as right-handed pitchers Donovan Thiery and Brayden Harris.
