Week 7 of college football delivered a slate of upsets that will be remembered for years. For the first time since 1996, Texas, Georgia, and Alabama all lost on the same day. Additionally, the No. 1 team in the country suffered defeat in consecutive weeks for the first time since 1990.
No. 7 Texas was knocked off at home by Florida, 27-24. No. 1 Georgia also lost at home by the same score to Auburn, while Alabama fell on the road to Tennessee, 26-10. In other thrilling matchups, No. 5 Indiana's 22-game winning streak was snapped by No. 4 Ohio State, 19-15, marking the Hoosiers' first loss in 666 days. No. 3 Miami (FL) outlasted Florida State, 43-35, in double overtime, and No. 8 BYU upset No. 2 Notre Dame, 28-22, at home.
No. 15 Kentucky started fast against Oklahoma, scoring on its opening drive to take a 7-0 lead. Although the Wildcats' offense and defense struggled for much of the game, the defense came up with critical stops in the fourth quarter. Kentucky forced four turnovers, including a pick-six and another interception that set up a touchdown, to secure a 21-13 upset victory in Norman.
With those results in mind, here are the SEC Power Rankings for Week 8.
