SDSU vs Fresno State: NFL Draft Prospects to Watch, Including Underrated Cornerback Simeon Harris

San Diego State will host Fresno State on Saturday night at Snapdragon Stadium in the battle for the Old Oil Can, marking the first meeting between the two programs as Pac-12 opponents. The Aztecs are coming off a 66-14 loss at Oregon State, while the Bulldogs fell 38-31 to Boise State.

NFL scouts will be keeping a close eye on several standouts from both teams, including an overlooked cornerback who headlines the rivalry. Here’s a look at five prospects to watch, from Fresno State’s Simeon Harris to San Diego State’s Isaac Lucas.

Simeon Harris, CB, Fresno State

Harris, a 6-foot, 190-pound transfer from Colorado and Utah State, led the Mountain West with five interceptions last season and has added three more through six games this fall. Among cornerbacks with at least 213 snaps, Pro Football Focus ranks him tied for 17th nationally in overall defense, first in tackling, and fifth in coverage. His ball production and coverage instincts make him an intriguing nickel prospect, but his physicality against the run suggests every-down potential. Scouts will evaluate whether his lateral quickness can hold up against NFL slot receivers and whether he has the size and strength to handle bigger targets in man coverage.

Isaac Lucas, C, San Diego State

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Lucas transferred from Ball State, where he made nine starts at right guard and allowed one sack and 10 pressures across 270 pass-blocking snaps. Now SDSU’s center, he owns a 78.4 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, good for 39th nationally among centers with at least 245 snaps. Scouts will weigh his versatility and protection efficiency against concerns about his anchor versus NFL power and ability to reach second-level defenders.

Other Prospects to Watch

San Diego State edge defender: The 6-5, 265-pound former three-star recruit from Pleasanton flipped from Colorado to SDSU. He had 26 tackles, 4 for loss, a sack, and an interception in 2024, but just 11 tackles, one for loss, and no sacks this season. The dimensions fit the NFL; the pass-rush production doesn’t. Scouts will assess his leverage against the run, hand usage, and ability to counter when tackles neutralize his initial move. He currently projects as a developmental free agent.

Fresno State wide receiver: The 6-4, 200-pound Hartnell College transfer was honorable mention All-Mountain West last season and made the Senior Bowl Top 300. He has 29 catches for 396 yards this fall. PFF ranks him 29th nationally in overall offensive grade and tied for 28th in route running among receivers with at least 33 targets. His catch radius has appeal, but separation against press coverage and at the top of routes will shape his Day 3 outlook.

San Diego State edge defender (Sacramento State transfer): The 6-4, 250-pound former San Jose State walk-on earned second-team All-Big Sky honors at Sacramento State last year with 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He has six tackles for loss and three sacks this season. Among edge defenders with at least 215 snaps, PFF ranks him 41st overall, 10th in tackling, and 30th against the run. Scouts will scrutinize whether his first-step burst, counters, and anchor translate against bigger, more athletic tackles.
