The San Jose Sharks in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft used their 30th overall pick to draft goalie Joshua Ravensbergen.
The goalie is now heading from the Western Hockey League, where he played with the Prince George Cougars, to the NCAA.
Ravensbergen has announced he will be playing at Michigan State University with the Spartans for the 2026-27 season.
Ravensbergen, in 46 games this past season with the Cougars, went 32-13-0.
He had a 2.51 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and four shutouts.
He finished third in goals-against average, first in save percentage along with wins, and tied for second in shutouts.
In 12 playoff games, he went 6-4-2 with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.
The season came after the Sharks drafted him.
San Jose used their pick after he appeared in 51 games in 2024-25, where he went 33-13-4 with a 3.00 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage.
In his first season, he played in 38 games, going 26-4-2 with a 2.46 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage, and six shutouts.
He finished his time in the Western Hockey League going 91-30-4 with a 2.68 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage, and ten shutouts.
In 31 playoff games, hes 17-9-4 with a 2.64 goals-against average, a .917 save percentage, and three shutouts.
