The Rutgers men's basketball program has announced the full details of its 2026-27 Big Ten schedule, revealing tip-off times and television networks for every contest. The Scarlet Knights are aiming to improve upon last season's 14-20 record with a roster that underwent a major overhaul via the transfer portal.
However, the team will be without head coach Steve Pikiell, who recently had successful surgery for a cancer diagnosis and will be receiving treatment throughout the season. In his absence, assistant head coach Brandin Knight will assume leadership responsibilities.
As was the case last year, Rutgers will face three opponents both at home and on the road: Penn State, Maryland, and Purdue. The non-conference slate features appearances in the Players Era Tournament and a matchup against Seton Hall, which should serve as early indicators of the team's potential. Additionally, the three games against Penn State and Maryland in the final five contests of the regular season present a chance for the Knights to secure crucial wins down the stretch.
